Premier League leaders Arsenal take on Swansea at the Liberty stadium on Saturday 31 October and former Gunners star Paul Merson believes that Mesut Özil could hold the key to unlocking the Welsh giants.
Merson told Sky Sports (via Sports Review): “One things for sure Arsenal won’t field the same side that played at Sheffield Wednesday! Trips to the Liberty Stadium are hard for Arsenal, but Swansea aren’t setting things alight and I don’t know how they’re going to live with the movement of Sanchez and Ozil.
“In the league, Arsenal are flying and they’ll continue that form on Saturday.”
The Gunners will be in pursuit of their fifth consecutive win when they take on Swansea and Özil has played a key role in the north London based sides recent success.
Özil has provided five assist in his last four league games and has a total of two goals and eight assist in 12 matches for the Gunners this season.
The 27-year-old did come under a lot of criticism when he first joined the Gunners from Real Madrid but he actually has the best ‘games per assist’ record in Premier League history.
