English striker Tammy Abraham has arrived in Istanbul to finalize his transfer from AS Roma to Besiktas, expressing his excitement and pride at joining the Turkish giants. The move, initially a loan with an obligation to buy, sees Abraham return to a permanent club after a season-long loan with AC Milan.
Documentation for the deal was reportedly signed last night, paving the way for Abraham’s arrival this afternoon. The forward is now set to undergo medical tests before the transfer is officially announced.

“It was a very long trip, but I am so excited to be here,” Abraham told Besiktas’ official social media channels during a live-streamed arrival. “I was recently in Turkey, not Istanbul, but I saw how beautiful and amazing this country is. It’s so nice to finally be in Istanbul and to finally wear the famous shirt that I used to see on TV. I feel so proud.”
When asked for a message to the Besiktas faithful, the former Chelsea and Milan player emphasized his winning mentality.
“I am a player who is here to win,” he declared. “A club like this has amazing history, it speaks for itself. The fans are very passionate, they love football, they love their team, and that’s exactly like me. I will give everything I have for this team and hope to win some trophies.” He added, “It’s a beautiful kit, I can’t wait to wear it in front of the fans and score my first goal.”
The transfer structure is reported to be an initial €2 million loan fee, with an obligation to make the move permanent for a further €13 million at the end of the season, plus an additional €2 million in add-ons.
This total package of up to €17 million is considerably lower than Roma’s initial €20 million asking price. However, the Italian club was reportedly eager to complete the deal by the June 30 deadline to alleviate Financial Fair Play (FFP) pressures.
Abraham, 27, spent the 2024-25 season on loan with AC Milan, where he scored 10 goals in 45 competitive appearances.
He initially joined Roma in 2021 from Chelsea, enjoying significant success by winning the inaugural Europa Conference League in 2022 with the Giallorossi. His spell at Milan also saw him lift the Supercoppa Italiana in 2025.
