Besiktas have been closely linked with a move for Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud in the Turkish media.
BEIN Turkey pundit Mehmet Demirkol advised the Black Eagles to reconsider their interest in the France international if they want a goal scorer.
The Istanbul giants sold star striker Cenk Tosun in January and have failed to find a replacement since.
Additionally, Alvaro Negredo had his contract terminated by mutual consent following the end of the transfer window leaving Besiktas in a striker crisis.
“A team that wants goals would not buy Giroud,” Demirkol said speaking on BEIN Sports Turkey.
“If I told you to list prolific goal scorers in the world would you list Giroud.
“He has an impact in games, at the end of the day France became World Cup champions with him in the side.
“But the job of a striker is to score, a team that is in need of goals should not buy Giroud.”

The World Cup winner has under a year left on his current contract and will be able to enter direct talks with foreign clubs in January unless he signs a new deal beforehand.
Giroud will leave the Blues as a free agent next summer unless he strikes an extension deal.
The French striker has three assists in seven appearances this term but has played just 299 minutes of football for the London based outfit.
Despite lacking depth upfront Besiktas have still managed to score 13 goals this season and are just a point behind leaders Galatasaray.
