TFF paid €3 million to bring Brazil to Istanbul

Turkey who sit bottom of their group in the Euro 2016 qualification stage host Brazil tonight in an international friendly game.

The Turkish Football Federation paid a sum of €3 million to bring the Brazilian national team to Istanbul for the exhibition match.

China, USA and the Arab gulf states have paid out large sums of money to bring Brazil to their nation in order to boost the popularity of football in their nations but it is the first time the TFF has adopted this strategy.

40,000 tickets have already been sold for the Turkey – Brazil game and all seats are expected to sell out by game time. Passolig has not been enforced for this international friendly.

The Brazil national side have received a lot of media attention and the prospect of seeing stars like Oscar and Neymar has resulted in a lot of interest.
