TFF reject Besiktas request to play on Monday [divider]
The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has rejected Beşiktaş’s request to play against Gaziantepspor on Monday.
The Black Eagles wanted to move the game scheduled for Sunday 14 December to Monday following their Europa League game against Tottenham on Thursday 11 December.
The TFF released the following statement regarding the decision:
“The Gaziantepspor – Beşiktaş fixture scheduled for 14-12-2014 will go ahead. The request by Beşiktaş to play the game on 15-12-2014 has been rejected. The tickets for the game had already gone on sale and Gaziantepspor have a Turkish Cup game on Thursday 17-12-2014.
“The federation does however, want to congratulate Beşiktaş for their success in the UEFA Europa League.’
Süper Lig leaders Beşiktaş will face Gaziantepspor on Sunday as planned. The Black Eagles clinched first place in Europa League Group C following their 1-0 win against Tottenham on Thursday.
