The Swiss tennis player won his sixth Australian Open yesterday and his 20th Grand Slam title.
Federer became the fourth player after Margaret Court, Serena Williams and Steffi Graf to win 20 or more major singles titles.
The victory tied Federer for the record for men’s Australian Open titles at six with Novak Djokovic and Roy Emerson.
Federer has now moved four clear of Rafael Nadan in the male Grand Slam championship list.
The 36-year-old has won six Australian Opens, one French Open, Wimbledon eight times and the US Open on five occasions.
