Ex-England international Paul Merson has revealed his prediction for Liverpool’s encounter with Huddersfield in the Premier League tonight.

The clash takes place at Kirklees Stadium while kick-off is scheduled for 20:00 (GMT).

Merson believes Huddersfield will play into Liverpool’s hands and has predicted a comfortable 3-0 victory over Jurgen Klopp’s side tonight.

“Huddersfield try and play out from the back a bit too much for me if I’m being honest,” Merson stated in his SkySports prediction.

“It’s a great philosophy, don’t get me wrong, but there’s a line and I think they overplay a bit too much.

“Huddersfield won’t play like Swansea did last week and Jurgen Klopp’s side will exploit that.”

Liverpool will be looking to return to winning ways following two shock results. The Reds suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Swansea City in their last League fixture. Liverpool were then eliminated from the FA Cup when West Brom registered a 3-2 victory over the weekend.

Germany international Emre Can is fit to start tonight. The 24-year-old was named as captain for Liverpool’s last two games.

Meanwhile, Huddersfield come into tonight’s encounter following three league defeats in a row.
