Ole Gunnar Solskjaer enjoyed a dream start to life as Besiktas manager, guiding his new side to a resounding 4-1 victory over Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League.
The victory, which came after a long period out of management for the Norwegian, was met with immense emotion.

“That is teamwork, togetherness. That is a proper team. It was one of the best feelings I’ve ever had in my life as a coach.
“This is special. I know it’s been difficult. Now we keep calm and go to the next one. But I got to say thank you and well done,” Solskjaer said after the match.
The result provides a much-needed boost for Besiktas, who are currently languishing in sixth place in the Turkish Super Lig.
Solskjaer will now look to build on this impressive start and guide the club back to the top of Turkish football.
“It’s great to be here, it’s very nice to see so many people care about this fantastic club,” he added.
“For me, I’ve had a very nice first meeting with the members of the board here and I’m really looking forward to this.
“It’s fantastic to be in this beautiful city.”
He inherits a squad that includes experienced players like Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gabriel Paulista, and Ciro Immobile, and will be looking to strengthen his squad further in the January transfer window.
While his time at Manchester United may have ended prematurely, Solskjaer will be hoping to achieve success with Besiktas and prove his managerial credentials once again.
