Mario Gomez is back in the spotlight after a disappointing spell at Fiorentina. The 30-year-old has joined Beşiktaş on loan at the start of the season and has got off to a great start.

The experienced striker has scored nine times in the league already and his impressive form has not gone unnoticed. Germany national team manager Joachim Low recalled him to the national team and several high profile clubs including Chelsea have started keeping tabs on him.

We look at three reasons the Blues could do with the in form Beşiktaş striker.

1. Goals!

Lets face it Chelsea have been struggling upfront this season with first choice striker Diego Costa netting just twice and on-loan forward Falcao having scored just once all season. Gomez is a prolific striker and apart from his time at Fiorentina he has always scored at a pretty incredible rate. The 30-year-old scored 113 goals and provided 26 in 174 appearances for Bayern Muncih. The Germany international scored 87 times and setup 24 goals in 156 games for fellow Bundesliga side Stuttgart. The hitman already has netted nine times for Beşiktaş this season helping his side move into first place with the most goals scored in the league so far.
