Galatasaray defender Victor Nelsson has said that he will not sign a new contract with the club after seeing a summer transfer to Sevilla collapse.
Nelsson, who is valued at £21 million, was linked with Tottenham and Arsenal in the summer, and was also close to joining Sevilla.

“It was very close with Sevilla,” he is quoted by Tipsbladet as saying. “The flight was booked, but [the move] did not materialise.
“I think that Galatasaray blocked the transfer. It’s no secret. They didn’t find the offer good enough.
“There has been interest and offers from clubs that I really want to join. I would have liked to have moved.”
It is rumored that Nelsson has a release clause in his contract, which expires in 2026.
Nelsson has confirmed that he will not sign a new contract with Galatasaray, which means that he could be sold in an upcoming transfer window.
Nelsson is determined to leave Galatasaray, even if he has to wait until the end of his contract. He is a valuable player and is likely to attract interest from several top clubs.
“I have had some talks with them,” he added.
“I informed them after the last international break that I don’t want to extend my contract. I have three years left on my contract and I just can’t see myself extending another year.”
Galatasaray have already found Nelsson’s replacement after signing Davinson Sanchez from Tottenham.
Nelsson has seen his playing time reduced since the arrival of Sanchez and it appears the Lions are gearing up to a potential exit.
