Tottenham Face Competition For Turkey International Starlet, Club President Confirms £10.6m Offer, Demands £14.2m

Trabzonspor attacking midfielder Abdulkadir Omur has been closely linked with a summer exit.

Tottenham and Benfica have both expressed an interest in the Turkey international.

Trabzonspor president Ahmet Agaoglu has confirmed there are offers for Omur including a bid from Benfica.

The Portuguese giants have bid £10.6m (€12m) but Trabzonspor have made it clear they want £14.2m (€16m) and a 20 percent future sale clause.

Agaoglu does not expect Benfica to meet his demands but should another club do so it could result in the sale of the 19-year-old.

“It is not just my decision, the board will have to come to a decision,” Agaoglu said.

“The board are either going reject the £10.6m offer or propose a counteroffer, £14.2m is the figure we are looking for.

“Of course, they are going to have to convince me as well.

“I have made it clear that I want to include a 20 percent future sale clause, something Benfica do not seem keen on.”

Sources close to Trabzonspor have revealed to Turkish-Football that Spurs have been keeping close tabs on the Turkey international.

Spurs have made enquiries for the attacking midfielder.

Turkish journalist Erdal Hos – who has close ties to Trabzonspor – meanwhile, claims that Spurs did make an offer for Omur.
