Tottenham Level With Besiktas In Facebook Engagement, Man United Trumped By La Liga Giants

The latest Facebook per post engagement figures did not through up as many surprises as Football Benchmark’s Twitter findings but there were two clubs outside the traditional big five leagues.

Real Madrid dominated the top 10 by a considerable margin with 138,000 engagements per post on Facebook.

Their La Liga rivals Barcelona came in at second with under half the number of engagements.

The Premier League was the most represented in the top 10 with five clubs in the following order, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham – but all five combined did not match Real.

Spurs had the same number of engagements as the sole Turkish representative on the list, Besiktas.

The Black Eagles have enjoyed a growing social media presence as part of their focus on expanding the brand abroad.

The reigning Super Lig champions carried out a number of successful social media campaigns and were ranked 9th for the month of February.

The only non-UEFA club in the list was Brazilian giants Corinthians.
