Tottenham Player Gains Three Litres Of Fluid Due To Prolonged Injury But Could Recover In Time For Intercontinental Derby

Tottenham striker Vincent Janssen has been sidelined for the past two months with a mysterious foot injury.

Reports in Turkey are now claiming that the striker on loan at Fenerbahce has not responded to therapy and that the edema on his right foot remains a problem.

An edema is an abnormal accumulation of fluid in certain tissues within the body, in this case Janssen’s foot.

Fotomac state that the player gained almost 3 litres of fluid because of the edema, and this development has baffled club doctors.

Per the source, the Tottenham medical staff have also been trying to get to the bottom of Janssen’s condition.

The Fenerbahce staff believe the striker has an infection or blockage in his foot causing the issue.

The Yellow Canaries are however, confident that the problem will be resolved soon and that he could be match fit in time for the Intercontinental Derby against Galatasaray on 17 March.

The Istanbul giants are desperate to treat Janssen and get him prepared in time for a tough run of fixtures.

Aykut Kocaman has been forced to play third-choice striker Fernandao as a result of Janssen’s injury.
