Tottenham sent scouts to watch £6.6m star viewed as Wanyama replacement, Newcastle also interested

Tottenham were among several Premier League sides to send scouts to watch Senegal international Papa Badou Ndiaye over the weekend.

The star midfielder was subject to bids from Premier League clubs over the summer transfer window but opted to join Galatasaray for £6.6 million.

Ndiaye has been a hit at the Istanbul giants, featuring in all ten of Galatasaray’s league games this season.

According to the Turkish outlet Sporx, Tottenham, Newcastle, West Ham and Leicester all sent scouts to watch Ndiaye against Trabzonspor on Sunday.

The Senegal international failed to shine on the night and was sent off in injury time.

Galatasaray lost the game by a 2-1 scoreline but remain at the top of the Turkish Super Lig.

Tottenham are on the lookout for a new midfielder following an injury to Victor Wanyama. The Kenyan star is expected to be sidelined for the remainder of the season.
