“We are in talks with Moussa Sissoko,” Usta was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.

“He is a very important player, Tottenham paid £35 million for him.

“He didn’t live up to expectations last season but this can happen in football.

“We want to loan him and get his career back on track.

“Obviously Tottenham do not want to give up on a player they paid that kind of money for but we will see.”

Tottenham paid Newcastle United £30 million [BBC] for Sissoko but he failed to settle in last season.

The France international provided four assists in 34 appearances for Spurs in all competitions last season.

Trabzonspor are keen on a marquee signing to celebrate their 50th year anniversary and have identified Sissoko as a transfer priority.

The Black Sea based outfit are confident Sissoko will agree personal terms as they will offer first team football and the chance to get his career back on track.

The 27-year-old could struggle to keep his place in the France national team if he does not play regularly next season.
