The France international has been closely linked with a move away from Tottenham after failing to secure a place in the starting eleven. Sissoko joined Tottenham for £30 million (BBC) from Newcastle last summer on transfer deadline day.

Turkish-Football recently revealed that Trabzonspor had not given up on the possibility of signing Sissoko. The Super League giants are willing to wait until transfer deadline day to land the powerful midfielder.

Trabzonspor were held to a 2-2 draw by rivals Fenerbahce on Sunday night. Tottenham meanwhile suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Chelsea.

27-year-old Sissoko registered four assists in 34 games for Tottenham last term.
