Tottenham vs Roma – Probable Lineups, Preview – £31m Spurs Target Cengiz Under Set To Start In International Champions Cup

Tottenham kick off their International Champions Cup pre-season tournament against Roma at the Qualcomm Stadium, San Diego USA.

Kick-Off is scheduled for 03:00 BST.

Roma will be without Alisson Becker who completed his move to Liverpool but will have a few new faces available.

Javier Pastore could be set to feature against after debuting in the 9-0 friendly win against Latina on July 14th.

Justin Kluivert could also make an appearance. Roma have plenty of competition now on the wings.

Under and Schick will be vying for a place on the right-wing. The young Turk offers explosive pace while Schick has a more physical presence.

Eusebio di Francesco waited for Under to settle before making him a first-choice starter on the wing.

Kluivert could also find playing time limited until he proves himself in training and on the playing field.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has a depleted squad but Davinson Sanchez, Heung-min Son, Christian Eriksen, Erik Lamela, Lucas Moura and Victor Wanyama are among the available first-teamers.

Roma have brought in 12 players this season while Tottenham have yet to make a transfer.

The North London outfit will have their eye on Under, who is a summer target.

Turkish-Football reported that Tottenham are monitoring the 21-year-old but that Roma do not want to sell Under this summer.

Roma value their star man as being worth £31m.

The Giallorossi will need time to get their new signings but considering Spurs are missing so many star names they may not be able to exploit their oppositions frailties.

The Italians have invested heavily in youth, Kluivert is aged just 19, Under is 21, Schick 22, Coric 21, Cristante 23, Zaniolo 18 and Bianda 18.

The young guns will be desperate to make an impression against a major club like Tottenham in a bid to win favor with the head coach.

Expect Roma to take this game more seriously than the average friendly, this is the younger members of the squads chance to make a case for themselves next season.
