Chelsea winger Marko Marin completed his loan move to Trabzonspor today.
Marin underlined that he aims to help the club to win the Super Lig title and that Stephane M’bia as well as Mehmet Ekici helped convince him to make the move.
“Trabzonspor want to win the league and I want to do my part,” Marin said speaking at his signing ceremony.
“I know M’bia from Sevilla, we won the Europa League together and I know Mehmet Ekici from Germany. Both players advised me to make the move and gave glowing references.”
Marin also revealed that he does not believe he will struggle to settle in as he grew up in an area with a large Turkish population in Germany.
“I liked in Frankfurt which has a large Turkish population and I have many Turkish friends so I know all about how big Trabzonspor is,” he added.
Chelsea confirmed that Marin joined Trabzonspor yesterday via their official Twitter account.
Marin will earn €1.6 million per-season and Trabzonspor have a €4 million buyout clause option which remains active through the duration of his contract.
Trabzonspor are currently joint first in the league and take on Akhisar next at the Avni Aker stadium.
