Trabzonspor Complete Signing of Nigeria International John Obi Mikel on Two-Year Deal

Trabzonspor have completed the transfer of John Obi Mikel on a two-year deal with an option to extend his contract by an additional season.

The Black Sea based side announced that an agreement has been struck with Mikel on the official club website.

The statement read: “A two-year and an additional year agreement was signed with the free captain of the Nigerian national team.”

The 32-year-old joins Trabzonspor as a free agent after his six-month spell at Championship outfit Middlesbrough came to an end.

Mikel is currently in Egypt for the Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria who qualified from Group B as runners-up after losing 2-0 against Madagascar.

The experienced midfielder will join fellow Nigeria international Ogneyi Onazi at Trabzonspor.
