Trabzonspor CEO Burak Gürdal has confirmed that Manchester United are interested in Abdul Majeed-Waris.
“We have not have any direct offers however, we know Manchester United are scouting Waris and keeping close tabs on him,” Gürdal told Sporx.
“Not just Waris, we have a few players being closely watched.
“We only signed Waris two-months ago and are not interested in selling right now but you never know what will happen in the future.”
United had scouts watching the Ghanian international during Trabzonspor’s 2-0 win against Lokeren in the Europa League on Thursday 23 October.
The 22-year-old was named the Swedish top flight’s best player in 2012, after finishing as the league’s top scorer with 23 goals in 29 games for Hacken.
Waris joined Spartak Moscow in 2013 and spent last season on loan at Ligue 1 outfit Valenciennes where he found the back of the net 10 times and made five assists in 21 appearances.
The highly rated Ghanian international joined Trabzonspor for €6 million this summer and has one assist in six appearances this season.
