Trabzonspor Give Manager Unal Karaman Two-Year Contract Extension

Trabzonspor have agreed to extend manager Unal Karaman’s contract for an additional two-seasons club president Ahmet Agaoglu revealed.

Agaoglu revealed that the board were left impressed with Karaman this season and spoke highly of his devotion to the football club.

“He will be in charge for another two seasons,” he said.

“I don’t know where these rumours claiming otherwise stem from. He had a great season and is dedicated to this club.

“Do not listen to the rumors.”

Karaman was initially brought in as a temporary manager until the club found themselves a more established name.

However, the head coach performed better than expected this term in the midst of a financial crisis and guided his side to a fourth-place finish.

In total over the course of 40 games, he guided Trabzonspor to 21 victories, 11 draws and eight defeats.

The Black Sea based side hit a rich vein of form in the second half of the season and are undefeated in the league since March 2019.

Trabzonspor take on Rizespor next in the Super Lig on Friday in the final game of the season.
