Trabzonspor were ‘too nervous’ says Ersun Yanal [divider]
Trabzonspor manager Ersun Yanal revealed his side was too nervous against Legia Warsaw following their 2-0 defeat in the Europa League Group L.
“It was a tough game and the situation was a bit unusual as the teams already had their qualification secured,” Yanal said.
“Our opponents played hard and we responded the same way. Sometimes we were too nervous and I admit there were moments when the style of play was not very attractive.
“We had more clear opportunities in the second half, but we lacked efficiency. However, the game is over and we will forget about it. We are looking forward.”
Trabzonspor secured progress into the Round of 32 despite the loss.
The Black Sea Storm lost at home and away to Legia and finished the group on 10 points alongside third place Lokeren – but had a better head-to-head record.
