Turkey will face Italy, Switzerland and Wales in the Euro 2020 Group A following the draw which took place in Bucharest, Romania.

The Red-Whites booked a place in the group stage finishing runners-up to France despite taking four points off the world champions.

No team in the qualifiers conceded fewer goals than Turkey (3) and the Crescent-Stars managed to keep eight clean sheets.

Senol Gunes has a strong defence to quick from heading into the group stages with in-form Leicester City centre-back Caglar Soyuncu, Juventus’ Merih Demiral, Schalke’s Ozan Kabak, Roma’s Mert Cetin and Fortuna Dusseldorf’s Kaan Ayhan and several other defensive players coming through the ranks.

At right-back Gunes has Lille ace Mehmet Zeki Celik but the side does lack depth and quality and at left-back with Umut Meras of Le Harve as the first-choice option. But as a defensive unit the back four have gelled and have a defensively minded midfield three as a shield.

In attack the main creative spark will come from Roma starlet Cengiz Under and Lille star Yusuf Yazici.

The Red-Whites have never beat Italy in a head to head game but have lost seven times and drawn on three occasions.

Turkey have played Wales six times winning twice drawing once and losing three games.

The Crescent-Stars best head to head record is against Switzerland who they have beat eight times draw three times and lost against four times.
