Turkey’s impressive run to the Euro 2024 quarter-finals has translated into a significant jump in the latest FIFA World Rankings.

The Turkish national team rose a record 16 places to 26th place.

Young Turks Impress

Turkey’s young national team, boasting an average age of 25.8 (second youngest in the tournament), reached the last eight in Europe, earning praise from fans worldwide.

Long Awaited Success

This achievement marks a significant turnaround after failing to progress beyond the group stages in Euro 2020 and 2016.
In Euro 2016, Turkey managed only 3 points and 1 goal, while Euro 2020 saw them exit without a single point or goal scored.

Historic Performance

Euro 2024 saw Turkey secure 3 wins for the first time in the competition’s history, surpassing their performance in the Euro 2008 semi-final run.

Turkey were one of the most exciting teams in the tournament this summer with star players Arda Guler, Ferdi Kadioglu and Baris Alper Yilmaz all excelling.

Guler made a name for himself scoring and providing two assists, joining Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo as the only teenagers who have scored and provided a goal at a European championships.

Global Repercussions

Euro 2024 and Copa America have shaken up the FIFA rankings, Argentina remains on top after their Copa America victory.

Spain, Euro 2024 champions, climbed 5 places to 3rd. Turkey’s impressive quarter-final finish has garnered significant attention.
