Turkish club prepare Arsenal talks in London for England international as replacement for outbound 32 goal striker

Galatasaray have been linked with a move for Arsenal’s England international forward Danny Welbeck.

The Istanbul giants are lining up a potential replacement for Bafetemi Gomis this summer.

Gomis has been linked with a £9 million move to Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal. The France international was the Turkish Super Lig’s top goalscorer and played an instrumental role in Galatasaray’s 21st title win.

According to the Turkish outlet Fotospor, Galatasaray boss Fatih Terim has identified Arsenal’s Danny Welbeck as a replacement for Gomis.

Per the source, Galatasaray officials will travel to London this week for talks with Arsenal.

The report goes onto state that an official bid is likely to be tabled for Welbeck should Gomis leave before August 31.

Welbeck has fallen down the pecking order at Arenal in recent months following the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The 27-year-old provided two assists and scored five goals in 28 Premier League appearances for Arsenal last season.

Gomis netted a total of 32 goals for Galatasaray last season.
