Turkish Super Lig giants Trabzonspor are ‘confident‘ of signing Newcastle United defender Chancel Mbemba this summer.

According to the Turkish outlet Fotomac, the Black Sea based club believe they will be able to sign the Democratic Republic of the Congo international on a season-long loan.

Per the source, Trabzonspor tabled a loan offer with an option to buy included, however, financial details of the bid have not been disclosed.

Fotomac goes onto state that the newly appointed Trabzonspor manager Unal Karaman is keen on working with Mbemba during the upcoming season.

As we previously reported, FC Porto are also interested in signing Mbemba during the upcoming transfer window.

Mbemba is expected to leave Newcastle United this summer after losing his place in Rafa Benitez’s starting eleven.

The versatile defender made just 11 appearances for Newcastle United in all competitions last season. Mbemba has another two-years remaining on his contract with the Magpies.
