Turkish Giants Consider Move For Man United Outcast, January Move Possible

Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are considering moves for Manchester United forward Anthony Martial, sources told Turkish-Football.

Neither side have yet to make a formal bid but both are eyeing a January offer for Martial and believe they can get him for a bargain price.

Martial is entering the last six months of his contract but has yet to be offered a contract extension.

It appears United do not have plans to keep Martial on and the interested Turkish clubs are aware of the situation after being contacted by his representatives.

Martial has been offered to Galatasaray and Fenerbahce through intermediaries; neither side has made a bid but both clubs are interested.

United, unwilling to extend his contract due to his inconsistent form and fitness issues, are hoping to recoup a transfer fee this month before releasing him in the summer.

The Red Devils already have experience dealing with Fenerbahce, having sold Fred for €15 million and brought in goalkeeper Altay Bayindir for £4.28 million last summer.

Martial has started just seven games and missing the last four weeks through illness.

Martial’s career trajectory at United has been a downward spiral. Since the start of the 2020-21 season, he’s managed a meager 18 goals, with his last 90-minute Premier League appearance coming against Sheffield United in January 2021.

His 90 goals in 317 games since arriving from Monaco in 2015 fall far short of expectations.

Fenerbahce’s rumored interest offers Martial a potential escape route, but their silence so far speaks volumes. Whether they make a bid and United accept remain to be seen.

One thing’s clear: Martial’s time at Old Trafford is nearing its end, and both club and player seem ready to turn the page.
