Galatasaray are waiting on Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp to make his decision regarding the future of Lucas Leiva by Monday.
Super Lig broadcaster Lig Tv report that the Lions have agreed terms with Liverpool regarding the transfer but that the final decision will be made by Klopp.
Per the source, the Lions have also agreed terms with the player and all that remains is for Klopp to decide whether the midfielder will or will not leave.
Speaking at recent Galatasaray signing Eren Derdiyok’s signing ceremony Lions sporting director Levent Nazioglu confirmed that an agreement has been reached with the Reds and that Lucas will join on Monday pending Jurgen Klopp’s decision.
“We have agreed terms with Liverpool on all fronts, there is some concern regarding Lucas’ injury but all that remains now is for Klopp to make his decision,” Nazifoglu said.
“If it goes ahead it will happen on Monday otherwise we will have to look elsewhere.”
The Echo meanwhile report that Klopp will only sanction the move if a defensive replacement is found. The Reds are in the midst of a defensive crisis with Mamadou Sakho, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip all out injured.
Additionally Martin Skrtel recently joined Fenerbahce and Kolo Toure parted ways with the club over the summer.
