Turkish giants make move for £13.5m Sunderland midfielder this summer

Trabzonspor are stepping up their efforts to sign Sunderland midfielder Didier Ndong this summer.

The Turkish Super Lig giants have been linked with a move for the Gabon international for the past two seasons.

According to the Turkish outlet Taka, Trabzonspor have tabled an offer to Sunderland for the 24-year-old however, financial details of the offer have not been disclosed.

Per the source, Trabzonspor are on the hunt for a new midfielder after selling Turkey international Okay Yokuslu to Celta Viga last month.

Meanwhile, a report from SB Nation’s Roker Report states that Sunderland rejected a bid from an unnamed club on Friday afternoon.

Per the source, Serie A side Torino are also interested in a move for Didier Ndong this summer.

Ndong made the move to Sunderland from FC Lorient back in 2016 for an eye-watering £13.5 million.

The Gabon international spent last season on loan with Watford FC and has three-years remaining on his contract with the Black Cats.
