Turkish League Previews 23: The Title Race Is Starting To Take Shape – Three Way Race Between Basaksehir, Besiktas & Galatasaray

Our current season record is 39 Wins – 21 Loss

Goztepe vs Trabzonspor

Trabzonspor have pretty much dropped out of the title race but top four is still up for grabs. Goztepe meanwhile are busy plummeting down the table. This could honestly go either way. Both sides are out of form. The visitors are favorites but their away form isn’t impressive.

Rizespor vs Malatyaspor

Malatyaspor are another side who are no longer in the title race but could still finish in the top four. Rizespor meanwhile have been on fire since the turn of the year but they remain just a point above the drop zone. I’m riding the Black Sea train until the wheels fall off.

Prediction: Rizespor Draw No Bet WIN

Sivasspor vs Antalyaspor

Two sides out of form. The only thing going for Sivasspor is how strong they have been at home.

Prediction: Sivasspor Win LOSS

Alanyaspor vs Kasimpasa

Alanyaspor look inspired under the stewardship of maverick coach Sergen Yalcin. Kasimpasa meanwhile, are in freefall since losing top goalscorer Mbaye Diagne.

Basaksehir vs Bursaspor

Bursaspor are a complete mess right now and if they do not sort their act out relegation could end up becoming a reality. Basaksehir are starting to show their nerves. Which is natural considering what is on the line. I think the home side could scrape a win but there won’t be many goals in this game. Basaksehir have conceded just 11 goals all season.

Prediction: Under 2.5 goals LOSS

Ankaragucu vs Erzurum

Both sides have started to show glimpses of light. Both teams also happen to be embroiled in a relegation scrap. Staying clear of this one.

Konyaspor vs Kayserispor

Konyaspor at home are always a solid bet. Especially going on current form.

Prediction: Konyaspor Win LOSS

Galatasaray vs Akhisar

Galatasaray have no option but to win if they want to close the six-point gap with Basaksehir. Fatih Terim’s side have been getting the job done in the league since the turn of the year. What they cannot afford to do is drop points at home. And I don’t expect them to against the bottom-placed side.

Prediction: Galatasaray Win WIN

Besiktas vs Fenerbahce

Now this is a derby which means the form book usually gets thrown out the window but this year it’s a little different as Fenerbahce are involved in a relegation scrap. To make matters worse they bowed out of the Europa League on Thursday. Besiktas will be fresher as a result – there was no European action for the Black Eagles. They also happen to be playing at home. And are also involved in the title race. Additionally, the Black-Whites are also playing the best football they have done all season. Shinji Kagawa fever is still alive and well among the fans and team morale is at a high. It’s always best to approach derby games with caution but all things considered, Besiktas are favorites.

Prediction: Besiktas Draw No Bet PUSH
