Turkish League Previews 29 – Galatasaray Back In The Title Race, Will Basaksehir Bounce Back?

Our current season record is 52 Wins – 31 Loss

Kasimpasa vs Bursaspor

Bursaspor are tumbling down the table after a dismal run of form which has seen them lose their last three games. Kasimpasa meanwhile are sitting comfortable mid-table. I simply cannot back either side right now.

Trabzonspor vs Malatyaspor

Trabzonspor are on a roll after winning their last four successive league games. The Black Sea based side are just four points behind 3rd placed Besiktas. Malatyaspor meanwhile, are 5th but are 11 points behind the home side and have one just one of their last six games.

Prediction: Trabzonspor Win

Akhisar vs Antalyaspor

This one is way too difficult to predict.

Goztepe vs Erzurum

Goztepe have lost their last three games and dropped into the relegation zone in the process. Erzurumspor are not doing a lot better and are one spot below the Izmir based side in 15th position. The home side have been in rotten form but I still think they could pull something out the bag at home.

Prediction: Goztepe

Galatasaray vs Kayserispor

Galatasaray are well and truly back in the title race after leaders Basaksehir losing to Besiktas last weekend. The Yellow-Reds are just five points behind their Istanbul neighbours with six games left to play. I cannot see the Lions dropping points at home against an out of form Kayserispor side.

Prediction: Galatasaray Win

Ankaragucu vs Konyaspor

Two sides with nothing left to play for. I’m not going to even try to predict what will happen.

Basaksehir vs Rizespor

The pressure is starting to get to Basaksehir. The have won just one of their last three games. Rizespor are sitting comfy in mid-table but have won three of their last four games. Every game is a potential championship decider from here onwards. I do not think the title race is over. There is going to be a few more twists and turns. We could be in for another upset here.

Prediciton: Rizespor +0.5 (Asian Handicap)

Alanyaspor vs Fenerbahce

Fenerbahce have had a pretty decent 2019 – well it would have been difficult to do any worse that they did over the first half of the season. The Yellow Canaries are not completely out of relegation trouble just yet and cannot afford to take their foot off the gas. Alanyaspor players meanwhile are busy planning their summer holidays after ensuring league safety.

Prediction: Fenerbahce Draw No Bet

Sivasspor vs Besiktas

Besiktas are the most in form team in the league right now and are coming off the back of a 2-1 victory over league leaders Basaksehir. Burak Yilmaz has eight goals in eight games. Dorukhan Tokoz has been brilliant in midfield as has Atiba Hutchinson and Yalcin Guven has been making a real name for himself. It is all starting to click for the Black Eagles but have they left it too late? Eight points separate them from top spot. There are six games left. It is difficult seeing Besiktas lift the title but second place is definitely up for grabs and that would mean Champions League football next season so they still have everything to play for.
