Turkish League Previews 5: Liverpool Loanee Set For Besiktas Home Debut, Can Galatasaray Stop Kasimpasa?

Galatasaray vs Kasimpasa

Purists would scoff at the idea of this being a derby game but technically it is and unlike previous seasons this time it actually means something. Reigning champions Galatasaray take on league leaders Kasimpasa who have been in red hot form. The Lions do not look quite ready yet. The Yellow-Reds were smashed 4-0 by Trabzonspor before the international break and if they defend anything like they did the in-form Mbaye Diagne will have a field day. Galatasaray are always favourites at home but if Kasimpasa are to spring a surprise now would be the time. I’m going to opt for goals instead of picking a side. Both sides have had little trouble finding the back of the net.

Prediction: Over 2.5 goals

Ankaragucu vs Akhisar

Prediction: Ankaragucu Win

Besiktas vs Malatyaspor

Besiktas should be able to get the job done over newly promoted Malatyaspor at home. It will be Loris Karius’ first home game so all eyes will be on the Liverpool loanee.

Prediction: Besiktas Win

Goztepe vs Kayserispor

Prediction: Kayserispor +0.5 (Asian Handicap)

Sivasspor vs Erzurum

Prediction: Sivasspor Win

Basaksehir vs Anatalyaspor

Prediction: Basaksehir Win

Konyaspor vs Fenerbahce

Fenerbahce have had a disastrous start to the season having won just four points from a possible 16. Konyaspor meanwhile, are undefeated in the league and no pushovers at home. I am sure the Yellow Canaries will turn things around at some point but head coach Phillip Cocu needs to steady the ship soon or his job will be in danger.

Prediction: Konyaspor -0

Rizespor vs Bursaspor

Prediction: Bursaspor -0
