Turkish League Previews & Predictions 23: Is anyone a safe bet?

The Turkish league has grown increasingly unpredictable over the past few weeks with traditional powerhouses Galatasaray and Fenerbahce slipping up.

The Lions have not won a game in three weeks while Fenerbahce are without a win in four games.

Trabzonspor vs Karabukspor

Just when it looked like Trabzonspor had turned over a new leaf they decided to revert back to the Black Sea Storm of last year. Ersun Yanal’s side have drawn their last two games after a four game winning streak however, they are still in the running for a top four spot due to 4th place Fenerbahce also slipping up. If Trabzonspor at home cannot beat a Karabukspor in turmoil who have lost their last four away games they really need to go back to the drawing board.

Prediction: Trabzonspor Win WIN

Bursaspor vs Gaziantepspor

Bursaspor are plummeting towards the depths of the league table faster than a rusty anchor on a ship full of holes. Gaziantepspor meanwhile are actually at the foot of the table. This is one game best to avoid.

Besiktas vs Rizespor

Besiktas are currently the only side in the league apart from Kayserispor in great form. It is difficult seeing Rizespor hold out against the Black Eagles fantastic four in Talisca, Babel, Quaresma and Cenk Gonen.

Prediction: Besiktas Win (-1 Asian Handicap) PUSH

Basaksehir vs Alanyaspor

Basaksehir have hit a rocky patch but managed to scrape a hard won three points against Osmanlispor last week. The Istanbul outfit are currently 2nd and the only side left in the title race. Expect Abdullah Avci’s boys to give it their all again against an unpredictable Alanyaspor.

Prediction: Basaksehir Win WIN

Adanaspor vs Konyaspor

Stay well clear of this one

Fenerbahce vs Osmanlispor

All is not well at Fenerbahce, the Yellow Canaries are without a win in their last four league games and 12 points behind league leaders Besiktas. The Istanbul giants cannot keep affording to lose points as Antalyaspor and Trabzonspor are breathing down their necks in pursuit of their 4th place spot which guarantees European football. Fenerbahce cannot afford to not qualify for European competition next season. Expect a reaction from the Canaries.

Prediction: Fenerbahce Win WIN

Kayserispor v Kasimpasa

Kayserispor are in red hot form having won their last four games in a miraculous escape from the relegation zone. We are going to ride this train until it derails.

Prediction: Kayserispor Win LOSS

Genclerbirligi vs Akhisar

No value here, stay well clear

Antalyaspor vs Galatasaray

Undoubtedly the most interesting game of the week. Igor Tudor has turned out to be the  most ruthless Tudor since King Henry VIII. The Croatian manager has been dropping players like flies in the two weeks he has been in charge. Galatasaray are without a win since the former Juventus man took over. Antalyaspor meanwhile were on a brilliant run, rising to 5th in the table, closing the gap with Fenerbahce to three points before suffering a shock defeat against Akhisar. Antalyaspor will be without Samuel Eto’o who is suspended, which is a YUGE miss. Galatasaray may be out the title race but a runners-up spot is still up for grabs. Expect the Istanbul giants to show a reaction against a weakened Antalyaspor.

Prediction: Galatasaray Draw No Bet WIN
