Turkish national team boss Fatih Terim has revealed that he is impressed with Arda Turan’s start at Barcelona.

“He has had a great start and I think he could play a role in Barcelona winning the treble again, “ Terim said speaking to reporters at a press conferred.

Turan played a key role in Turkey booking a place in the European Championships this summer and is almost certain to make the national team squad in France.

The 29-year-old will compete with Galatasaray midfielder Selcuk Inan for the captains armband for the national team this summer.

Barca have won all 14 games Turan has featured in since making his debut in the 4-1 victory over Espanyol in the Spanish Cup last month.

The Turkish international star is currently competing in three competitions at once. Barca are first in the league, have already booked a place in the Copa del Rey final and are favourites to progress to the Champions League quarter-finals after beating Arsenal at the Emirates a fortnight ago.

Turan has three assists and one goal for Barca this season but had to wait six-months to make it into the side as the club were serving a FIFA transfer ban.
