Turkish National Team Set For Friendly Against Italy Before Euro 2024

On June 4th, Turkey and Italy lock horns in a friendly encounter at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium in Bologna. While billed as a warm-up for both sides ahead of Euro 2024, the match carries additional weight for Turkey’s manager, Vincenzo Montella.

It will also be the first time Italian manger Vincenzo Montella will take charge of the Turkish national team against his country of birth.

Both teams test their strengths and strategies before the European Championship and it will be a celebration of Turkey and Italy’s joint hosting of Euro 2032.

There have been 15 previous encounters, with Italy winning 11 and 4 ending in draws.

Italy won the last meeting 3-2 in a friendly match in 2022.

The June 4th friendly presents a crucial opportunity for Vincenzo Montella to prove his mettle and offer a glimpse into Turkey’s Euro 2024 aspirations.

Montella has got off to a great start as Turkish national team manager guiding them into Euro 2024 as Group A leaders toppling the might Croatia for the first place spot.

The Italian manager will have rising stars Arda Guler and Kenan Yildiz to pick from as well as potentially giving youngster Can Uzun a break.
