Loris Karius is on the verge of being dropped according to Turkish newspaper Fotomac.

Now we must point out that the same paper has claimed Karius will get dropped more times than we can remember.

Per the source, Besiktas manager Senol Gunes was unhappy with the German keeper’s display against Basaksehir.

The Black Eagles lost the derby 1-0 against their Istanbul neighbors.

The goal left fans and pundits divided over who to blame, the defence or the keeper. To be fair both looked at fault but had a man been put on the far post the goal would probably not have been conceded.

It was the third time this season that Besiktas have conceded a goal from a corner going in at the far post.

Besiktas take on Genk next in the Europa League and according to the newspaper this will be his final warning. Another mistake and apparently he will be dropped.

Segments of the Turkish media have not been best pleased with Karius as I commented on in my latest piece for The Guardian.

Besiktas management do however, still have confidence in Karius’ abilities and remain happy with him.

Karius has conceded 16 goals in 11 starts this term since making the move keeping just one clean sheet in the process.
