As excitement about Turkish Super League grows, round 12 is going to bring us more interesting clashes.
Galatasaray v Basaksehir
The biggest derby of the round is going to take place on Saturday at Turk Telekom Stadyumu where Galatasaray are going to host their city rivals Basaksehir. The defending champions are sitting on the 6th place having the same number of points as their rivals. Although Fatih Terim’s side is pretty hard to crack and their defending is the best in the league, they haven’t been too efficient in the front. Galatasaray improved their form lately as they celebrated three times in the last four rounds. They still haven’t suffered a defeat at home ground, however in five occasions they missed the chance to win twice.
After a poor start of the campaign, the visitors improved their game and in the past ten matches in all competitions they haven’t tasted a defeat. Arda Turan and the lads are two points behind the top placed Sivasspor and they are aiming for another title challenge this season. Last time, Basaksehir finished as runners-up in the Turkish top tier and the away side still waits for their first title. They haven’t lost four times in a row when playing away from home and the visitors are hoping that they can keep the run going. This is going to be close game and it wouldn’t be surprising that these two sides split points.

Konyaspor v Besiktas
Home side did have a decent start of the season, however they fell into results crisis which saw them dropping to the 12th place. In the last four rounds, Konyaspor managed to pick up just a point and they need to get back on winning track as soon as possible. The hosts are only three points ahead of the relegation zone, but they will have a very tough challenge in the upcoming round. Although they haven’t been too bad in the front, home side needs to tighten up their defence which allowed 16 goals so far in the season. Konyaspor suffered only one defeat when playing in front of their fans this season, however they were involved in too many draws.
On the other hand, Besiktas had a very inconsistent start of the campaign which managed to put a dent into their title bid, however, the visitors managed to improve a lot and in the past five rounds they missed the chance to win only once. During that period, Gokhan Gonul and the lads conceded just once, while their teammates in the front managed to get done their part of the job. Besiktas also started picking up points at away grounds as they got back home with four points from their last two outings. This is the clash of two teams in totally opposite momentums and we believe Besiktas are capable enough of continuing their very good streak.
Our tip:
Besiktas to win
Under 2.5 Goals at FT
Yeni Malatyaspor v Fenerbahce
The hosts had a very successful last season when they managed to get a ticket for Europa League qualifiers. They were not proud of their start of the current campaign, but lately Yeni Malatyaspor improved their form. They managed to tie three straight wins and remain undefeated in two straight away matches, which saw them climbing to 7th spot. Mitchel Donald and the lads are not only three points behind the top placed Sivasspor and they are about to challenge the place in the very top of the table once again. Yeni Malatyaspor are the most efficient team in the league and they are scoring three goals per match in average when they are playing in front of their fans.
After a very disappointing season, Fenerbahce managed to consolidate and they are just one point away from the top spot. Their recent form is a bit variable lately as they managed to book three victories and suffer two defeats. Ersun Yanal’s side improved their attacking work a lot, while their defending is one of the best in the competition. However, their away performances are not so confident and Yeni Malatyaspor can explore their chances at home ground.
