Manchester City lifted the Carabao Cup after beating Arsenal 3-0 at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
Ilkay Gundogan started the clash after Pep Guardiola waxed lyrical about him following his display in the 4-0 win over Basel in the Champions League Last 16 first-leg last week.
The midfielder of Turkish origin did not receive rave reviews this time around despite being involved in Vincent Kompany’s goal.
The other goals were scored by David Silva and Sergio Aguero in what ended up being a comfortable victory.
We took a look at how City fans reacted to Gundogan’s display on social media.

Not everyone was pleased with his display.
Gundogan’s decline is a hard one to swallow. Turns like a Monster Truck now. Awareness in possession is non-existent sometimes.

Granit Xhaka (2) and Jack Wilshere (2) were dispossessed 4 times in the first-half.
Only one Man City player was dispossessed in the first-half – Ilkay Gündogan (1).#CarabaoCupFinal

Gündogan having a nightmare. Wilshere running circles around him. Need to target him with his back to goal.

Gundogan extremely sloppy as are others but he’s sticking out to me. Auba is eventually gonna get on the end of one of those long balls.

Not everyone criticised him, there were still a few fans backing the 27-year-old midfielder.
How good is Gündoğan!? KDB gets the plaudits, but he is spectacularly good.
