Two promising young Turkish footballers have been highlighted on the world stage after being included in The Guardian’s prestigious annual feature, “Next Generation 2026: 60 of the best young talents in world football.” The list, which spotlights the most promising players born in 2009, features Fenerbahçe winger Ali Demirbilek and Galatasaray striker Ada Yüzgeç.
Notably, the insightful entries on the Turkish prospects were penned by Emre Sarigul of Turkish-Football.com, underscoring the trust placed in local expertise for the global scouting report.

Ali Demirbilek, a dynamic winger currently featuring in Fenerbahçe’s youth ranks and youth national setups, was praised for his technical quality and rapid progression. The report highlighted his performance at youth level, noting that his natural talent and development trajectory have placed him firmly on the radar as one of the brightest attacking prospects emerging from Turkey.

Equally impressive is Ada Yüzgeç, the 1.80-meter-tall striker representing Galatasaray. The newspaper noted that Yüzgeç has been working closely with a strength and conditioning coach over the last four years, aiding his physical maturity and readiness to step up to the next level. The Guardian emphasized that while Turkish football has faced a scarcity of top-quality natural center-forwards, Yüzgeç’s emergence signals that this trend may soon be changing.
The inclusion of Demirbilek and Yüzgeç places Turkey alongside major football nations producing top-tier youth talent. Their selection adds their names to an elite international group born in 2009, which this year also features stars like Cavan Sullivan (Philadelphia Union), Giovanni Baroni (Talleres), Eduardo Conceição (Palmeiras), and Orian Goren (Barcelona).
