Germany suffered a shock 3-0 defeat to the Netherlands at the Amsterdam Arena in the UEFA Nations League on Saturday.
Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil did not feature as he retired from international football following the World Cup.
Germany crashed out at the group stage and Ozil quit the national side afterward citing racism and disrespect among the reasons.
The playmaker of Turkish origin felt he had been scapegoated by sections of the media, fanbase and that the German FA threw him under the bus.
Despite not even being part of the team former German national team player Uli Stein could not help but have a swipe at Ozil.
Stein claimed the 29-year-old has done nothing for Ozil in the last few years and that the player did not even know what was written in his resignation statement as it was written by his advisors.
“In the last few years, he [Ozil] has done nothing at all done in the national team,” Stein was quoted as saying by Sport1.
And regarding the statement: “One of his advisers wrote that for him.
“Until today does not know what is in his statement.”
