Van der Wiel available to Hull City under one condition

Hull City have made an enquiry for Fenerbahce full-back Gregory Van Der Wiel a source close to the Istanbul giants revealed to Turkish-Football.com.

The Tigers want Van Der Wiel on loan but Fenerbahce will only let him leave on a permanent deal.

The current sticking point is that Wiel is set to make €14 million if he sees out his current contract at Fenerbahce and he is is unlikely to leave unless his current wages are matched.

Hull City have also been closely linked with another Fenerbahce player in Emmanuel Emenike.

Fenerbahce have also stated that he is free to leave but only on a permanent deal.

Van der Wiel has starred for the likes of PSG and Ajax Amsterdam in the past. The Netherlands international joined Fenerbahce over the summer but after a bright start he fell out of favour with head coach Dick Advocaat who sees no future for the full-back.

The full-back was recently fined for returning back late and missing training following his trip to Switzerland for his girlfriend Rose Bertram’s photo shoot.

Van der Wiel has one assist in 12 appearances this season and was left out of Fenerbahce’s draw against Adanaspor over the weekend.

The 28-year-old is represented by super agent Mino Raiola who is expected to find his client a new club by the end of the transfer window.

Van der Wiel has 46 international caps for the Netherlands but has not played for his country since 2015.

The Yellow Canaries have already started planning for a new full-back and are in the transfer market looking for a replacement.

Fenerbahce are currently fourth in the Turkish Super League, seven points behind league leaders Basaksehir.

The Yellow Canaries topped their Europa League group finishing ahead of Manchester United to book a place in the next round of the competition.
