Fenerbahce were knocked out of the Europa League Last 16 clash after losing 4-2 on aggregate against Braga at the Municipal stadium.
The game was however, marred by the actions of referee Ivan Bebek. Ahmed Hassan scored the opening goal for Braga but was clearly offside.
Fenerbahce ended up getting manager Vitor Pereira sent off just before the first-half for dissent against the referee.
Alper Potuk got the Yellow Canaries back into the game just before the half-time whistle scoring the equaliser that looked to have booked Fenerbahce a place in the quarter-finals – Fenerbahce won the first let 1-0.
That was all about to change as Bebek decided to award a penalty against Mehmet Topal for handling the ball. The replays showed that the ball was clearly blasted at the chest of the Turkish international where he kept his arms at all times.
To make matters worse Bebek also sent off Topal and Braga took the lead from the spot kick. Fenerbahce lost their cool afterwards and the home side scored two further goals while Fenerbahce got Alper Potuk sent off for a rash challenge and Volkan Sen was given his marching orders just before the final whistle.
