Antalyaspor striker Samuel Eto’o sparked controversy with his second goal in the 4-2 victory over Galatasaray at the Antalya Arena today.
We do not know if Diego Maradona is a role model of Eto’o or not but he his second goal against the Lions today seemed to have been inspired by the Argentinian legend.
Eto’o clearly handles the ball before heading it into the back of the net but the linesman and referee both missed the incident.
The former Barcelona star now has 21 goals and six assists in 29 league games for the Scorpions this season.
Galatasaray goalkeeper Fernando Muslera and his teammates protested long after the goal had been given but were unable to change opinion of referee Yasar Kemal Ugurlu.
The reigning champions suffered yet another defeat in what has turned out to be a nightmare season. Galatasaray are currently 7th in the league but still have a chance at breaking into the top four as they are just four points behind 4th placed Basaksehir.
Antalyaspor meanwhile moved up into 11th place following the win 12 points clear of the relegation zone.
