Mesut Ozil provided the assist for Arsenal’s opening goal against Sunderland in their 3-1 win over Sunderland in the Premier League.

The 27-year-old provided a defence splitting pass which Joel Campbell ran onto,. The Costa Rican international passed the ball into net passed Sunderland’s keeper Pantilimon.

Özil was Vitality Arsenal Player of the Month after an impressive November. The Gunners playmaker has now won the award for the second consecutive month.

Arsenal moved up into second position following today’s win and Manchester City’s defeat at the hands of Stoke. The Gunners have 30 points after 15 games and take on Olympiakos in the UEFA Champions League next week.
