“I am very happy at Besiktas but as I have always said I also have plans to move to a top European club and give Turkish football a great name.”

Atletico Madrid paid £11 million [Transfermarkt] for the attacking midfielder in 2011.
Ozyakup has just over 12 months remaining on his contract but has yet to extend his deal.

“I mean it would be an honour to be a captain and become a Totti like player but we will see,” he added.
Ozyakup joined Besiktas from Arsenal in 2012 and went onto become a key player for the Black Eagles winning two league titles.
Arsenal have however, been closely linked with a move to bring Ozyakup back to the club according to Goal.
The North London side have been monitoring his development according to scout Jurgen Kost.
Kost was quoted by Turkish-Football as saying: “Ozyakup is a player of the highest standard, we have been closely tracking his progress and when we do our next search for players in his position he could return to Arsenal.”
