‘I want Liverpool’ – Champions League star Ryan Babel reveals why he wants wants Last 16 clash against Reds

Besiktas are one of eight teams left in the Champions League yet to taste defeat.

The Black Eagles were held to a 1-1 draw against Monaco on Match Day 4 at the Vodafone Arena.

The Istanbul giants remained top of Group G on 10 points following the clash.

The reigning Super Lig champions now have a 98 percent of making it to the next round.

Liverpool happen to be another side yet to taste defeat in the elite European competition this season and the Reds are exactly who Ryan Babel has his eye on in the next round.

“I want Liverpool in the next round,” Babel said speaking to CNN.

“I am not really bothered who we draw but Liverpool would be really special.

“It would be a really special game for me but we are ready to take on anyone.”

Liverpool and Besiktas have faced each other four times in European competition.

Babel was actually in the Black Eagles side that recorded a record 8-0 win over Besiktas in the Champions League back in 2007.

Besiktas have however, beat Liverpool twice in Europe – once in the Champions League and also in the Europa League.

The Eagles did also knock Liverpool out of the Europa League Round of 32 in 2015.

The Reds are currently first in Group E on eight points but Sevilla and Spartak Moscow are in hot pursuit on seven and five points, respectively.

Besiktas meanwhile lead Group G and are in such a strong position that they could in theory finish first even if they lose their next two games.

The only way Besiktas and the Reds would be able to draw each other is if one side finish their group first and the other second.
