Liverpool star Emre Can won the Sky Sports Monday Night Football Goal of the Season viewer vote on Monday picking up 35 percent of the vote.

Can’s overhead kick goal in the 1-0 victory over Watford picked up the award.

We took a look at how fans reacted to the goal of the season award on social media.

There is no denying that it was an amazing goal.

There were a few critics and the decision did divide opinion – among non Liverpool fans.

Liverpool fans thought otherwise.

Can has started in the Reds last 12 league games of which only two have ended in defeat.

The Germany international of Turkish origin has a total of five goals and three assists in all competitions for the Reds.

The 23-year-old has just over 12 months remaining on his contract but has yet to sign a new deal.

Liverpool will take on Middlesbrough next in their final game of the season. Can is expected to start.

  1. Scorpion kicks are flicks, they’re lucky, they’re hit and miss with intention. Can’s was superbly executed, not coming off a shin but absolutely perfect and was a difficult take.
