Everton boss Sam Allardyce drew criticism after dropping January signing Cenk Tosun for four games in favor of Oumar Niasse.
Allardyce made it clear that Tosun was not match fit and struggling with adapting to the Premier League.
Big Sam’s comments did not go down well with the fans but it turns out he was telling the truth.
Tosun admitted he did find it difficult to cope with the physicality of the league after joining.
It is perhaps little surprise that his fitness suffered considering this was his first ever season without winter break.
The Turkey international did make it clear that he has since got up to speed thanks to Duncan Ferguson and the Dubai training trip.
