Can plays for Germany but is of Turkish origin.
Being a native Turkish speaker Can would also be able to speak to his opposition Azerbaijan players as the the language is mutually intelligible.
The 23-year-old’s future at Liverpool is in doubt as he has under 12 months remaining on his contract but has yet to sign a new deal.
