Germany crushed Azerbaijan 5-1 in the Fritz-Walter stadium to wrap up a perfect World Cup 2018 qualification campaign winning all 10 group stage games.

Liverpool star Emre Can started for Germany and put on an impression display scoring his first goal for the national team.

The wait was worth it as Can ended up scoring a stunning goal from outside the penalty area.

Can plays for Germany but is of Turkish origin.

Being a native Turkish speaker Can would also be able to speak to his opposition Azerbaijan players as the the language is mutually intelligible.

The 23-year-old’s future at Liverpool is in doubt as he has under 12 months remaining on his contract but has yet to sign a new deal.
